His work has primarily revolved around black metal. With his first collection of poems, \"Zeitlos – Bairische Mundartgedichte von Tod und Leben\" (\"Timeless – Bavarian Dialect Poems on Death and Life\"), the musician is opening a new chapter in his creative output by becoming a poet. This artistic leap is not as great as it might initially appear, as Jell has always written his own lyrics. For the two albums of his current project Gràb, \"Zeitlang\" (2021) and \"Kremess\" (2025), the vocalist and lyricist deliberately chose the Bavarian dialect of his homeland as the vehicle for his ideas. In his poetry as in his songs, Jell repeatedly explores the theme of death, which is interwoven with reflections on the magic and power of nature, the path of solitude, and the bitterness that stems from human behaviour. The author places himself firmly in the tradition of Romanticism. Matthias Jell has suffered from depression for many years. His poetry is also conceived as an attempt to transform pain into creativity and to become a light in his own darkness. At first glance, his poems may often appear despondent and permeated by negative feelings but are in fact intended as a positive message – and not just to his fellow sufferers: everyone has talents that can guide them through their darkest hours. Never give up! The poetry cycle \"Zeitlos\" is accompanied by nature photography by the well-known musician and producer Markus Stock (Empyrium, The Vision Bleak). Stock is also responsible for the background music in the supplementary audiobook. The illustrations for the volume were created by the German artist Benjamin König.","brand":"details","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":54909202661699,"sku":"PRO 382","price":29.95,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0781\/1560\/2755\/files\/9783936878646_f4dd5b83-2a95-4f77-8103-9d9b64b90708.jpg?v=1791971156","url":"https:\/\/spkr.store\/products\/matthias-jell-zeitlos-bairische-mundartgedichte-von-tod-und-leben-buch-deutsch","provider":"SPKR.store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
