Sonic darkness and a harsh musical experience have always been part and parcel of the industrial genre. FLESH FIELD are taking this a step further by adding cinematic orchestral elements to their distinctive sound. On their sixth full length – counting in the self-released 2011 instrumental album "Tyranny of the Majority" – the US-industrial act displays a supreme mastery of their musical subject. A feeling of hard, cold fury permeates "On Enmity", which is hardly surprising given the current state of the world and an artist who has achieved a master's degree in international policy studies with a focus on counter terrorism. Thematically, mastermind Ian Ross circles back to his original themes as "On Enmity" explores post-trauma and abuse as well as the perseverance to endure without relief or redemption. With "On Enmity", FLESH FIELD take their trademark sound into the present and future. Whether hammering the album's massive beats out on headphones or gladly giving in to magnetic pull towards the dance floor, "On Enmity" presents the well matured and more experienced FLESH FIELD at their very best!
