After having gathered experiences in various bands as a drummer Shamaatae founded ARCKANUM out of his desire to combine his deep passion for Metal with dark magic and Satanism in 1992._x000D_
The demos and full lengths bearing the ARCKANUM logo that would be released up until 1998 garnered its sole member Shamaatae praise wide and far. Appreciated by adherents of Black Metal for its highly original and atmospheric sound, ARCKANUM’s merits aren`t restricted to releasing timeless music. Beginning with Fran marder, multi-talented Shamaatae – by creating unmistakable covers, booklets, calligraphy, drawings and lyrics written in ancient Swedish – not only succeeded in establishing a particular aesthetic for ARCKANUM but manifested a whole world or rather an antikosmos unto itself._x000D_

Fran Marder_x000D_
After having caused a stir within the worldwide underground and attracting the interest of various labels, the year 1995 saw the emergence of ARCKANUM’s first full-length album Fran marder. Only released one year after Trulen the album’s nine tracks featured four entirely new songs while “Hvila pa tronan min”, “Svinna”, “Gava fran trulen”, “Bærghet” and “Kolin væruld” were already present on Trulen. In general, Fran marder picks up where Trulen left off. The components that made Trulen such a stand-out effort are all intact but presented in a refined way. The most striking difference between the second demo and Fran marder is the professional studio sound. Courtesy of Peter Tägtgren’s Abyss studio the powerful production helped boost the impact of the tracks considerably. Despite this cornerstone of Black Metal already celebrating its 30th anniversary Fran marder hasn`t lost any of its relevance. Devotees still cite the first album as one of their favourites of the entire ARCKANUM catalogue which only proves its timelessness._x000D_
