Hexer - Abyssal (CD)

Founded in early 2015, Hexer developed from an underground doom-act to a band with a unique sound. With a two-piece line-up, the extraordinary combination of Psychedelic Doom, Sludge, as well as Black- and Death Metal is entering its next stage. Our third full length ABYSSAL, building on the critically acclaimed debut Cosmic Doom Ritual and 2020’s sophomore release Realm Of The Feathered Serpent, is our most ambitious output so far, with a tremendous amount of work put into it. By breaking our sound down to its core - drums, vocals, a single guitar and various sonical devices, we were able to create a very remarkable and dense atmosphere. ABYSSAL has been recorded at Hidden Planet Studio (Berlin) and Hexer HQ between late 2021 and april 2022. The final mastering was done in juli 2022. The new chapter of our cosmic journey takes place in the depths of sea, cosmos and a mind, drugged and trapped in infinity. With ABYSSAL, we created a psychonautic story, where a lost soul is dragged down the cosmic maelstrom of time, now doomed to exist in an symbiotic and parasitic state. By writing the sonic pendant to every concept, all songs intertwine into an uncompromising yet seducing album, telling the story in word and sound.
