With a new line-up, the three-piece carries on combining doom-, black-, death metal and drone to a unique sound, first presented on the 2017’s debut LP Cosmic Doom Ritual. After over 50 shows since 2015 (a.o. with JUPITERIAN, AHAB, GATES OF SLUMBER), a european tour with DOWNFALL OF GAIA and two releases, HEXER joined forces with german label CRAWLING CHAOS, to tell the next chapter of their interstellar journey. The forthcoming LP Realm Of The Feathered Serpent is ethereal, transcendental, massive and grim; telling the downfall of the aztec empire in a mystical and cosmic setting. The trio does not hesitate from breaking any genre-standards while creating a distinct sound suiting their own vision. So one may find a well executed blend of epicness in the vein of BÖLZER and YOB. A touch of desert mystic and psychedelic soundscapes known from bands such as OM or UFOMAMMUT are infused by straight to the face riffing and drum work in the style of HIGH ON FIRE, which then again is rounded to full by the ponderous doom that bands like AHAB are known for. The use of low sub-bass frequencies by the synthesizer section awards to the whole an intriguing atmosphere drone-doom acts like SUNN O))) produce. Yet the creativity which lies beneath the workmanship brought together on REALM OF THE FEATHERED SERPENT radiates such a genuity, one - with no doubt - easily will classify as a HEXER heartwork. The cover artwork by Mariusz Lewandowski, which the band came across during the writing process, was a big source of inspiration for the concept album HEXER developed.With their new release, HEXER drags you into densest spheres of tribal darkness!
